In 2017, Montreece worked in business operations and support for KIPP Texas Public Schools, Houston, as director of operations for KIPP PEACE Elementary School. She also served in operations at LearnZillion (now Imagine Learning).

Montreece holds a master’s degree in education from the University of Phoenix and a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Dominguez Hills.

Why I do this work:

Growing up in disadvantaged neighborhoods, I have always existed in a world of blurred discrimination lines, cultural and disability marginalization, and intersectionality. I advocate — often behind the scenes — in the weeds of logistics, scheduling, and planning to enable educators to focus on creating equitable learning environments for all children regardless of race, socioeconomic status, and ability.
