Eva Colen is a Virginia native (a from here not come here) she’s quick to point out. She’s also frustrated with the quality of the commonwealth’s public schools and the lack of attention to those issues. Some are amazing but far too many students, especially but not only low-income students and racial minorities, are being shortchanged. And the state is apparently allergic to accountability that would mean real changes for kids. So she recently won a highly competitive 50CAN advocacy fellowship to work on those issues among others. But, really as importantly, she can fish! Here she is with a nice Virginia bass.
She now joins hundreds of education types who have had their fish featured on this blog. Here and here they are. Send me yours.
