No single year in recent memory highlights the dire challenges that our students are facing more than 2020 did. Of course, these challenges existed long before COVID-19 changed the state of education overnight. But the pandemic brought this reality into stark relief, and America’s charge is clearer than ever: Underserved students must receive the education they deserve, and it’s up to all of us to make it happen.

Bellwether was founded on the idea that schools must do dramatically more for Black, Hispanic, low-income, and other students historically denied access to opportunity. For more than 10 years, clients have looked to us to provide thoughtful, non-ideological analysis and strategies that prioritize serving disadvantaged children — and in the midst of a challenging year for education, we were still able to deliver on this promise and help our clients keep the focus on doing the greatest good for kids.
