Reimagining the Road to Graduation, a new resource from Bellwether Education Partners, explores the fragmented postsecondary system that millions of students must navigate to get to and through college—a system that has long been disjointed but is under even more strain now due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This is especially true for low-income students, first-generation students, rural students, and students of color who face some of the greatest hurdles in navigating the postsecondary path.

Supporting students in getting to and through college shouldn’t rely on extraordinary humans—instead, it requires an extraordinary system. In addition to student stories and local case studies that illustrate the hurdles young people are facing, Reimagining the Road to Graduation offers recommendations for adults across the sector to work together to build a better postsecondary system that provides young people with multiple, clear pathways to college graduation; meets students’ basic needs; and ensures the COVID-19 crisis doesn’t derail millions of students’ college dreams.

Visit Reimagining the Road to Graduation to read:

  • Students’ unique stories and the hurdles they face in getting to and through college.
  • How COVID-19 has impacted an already fragmented postsecondary system (including local studies in the Bay Area, the Twin Cities, the Rio Grande Valley, and the Mississippi Delta)
  • Recommendations for leaders and organizations to help young people achieve their college dreams.
