Our Executive Search team, part of our Talent Services practice, identifies and places outstanding leaders in high-impact education organizations. We recently helped fill three exciting roles:

  • Kristin Ohnstad joined Blue Engine as Chief Program Officer. Blue Engine leverages human capital to reduce teacher-student ratios in public high schools in low-income communities by creating a high-impact, small-group learning experience. Kristin will lead the design, implementation, and management of programming that will reach 2,200 students this fall. Before joining Blue Engine, Kristin spent almost 10 years with Teach for America, first as a corps member, and most recently as Vice President, Strategy.

  • Patrick Herrel joined Cincinnati’s Accelerate Great Schools as its inaugural CEO. The new city-based organization will focus on boosting the number of high-quality schools open to the city’s poorest students by attracting and growing proven school models and building the talent pipeline. Patrick was previously Vice President of Education Initiatives at The Mind Trust, and a former Teach For America corps member and recruitment director.

  • Tim Matheny is the new Executive Director of the emerging Philadelphia Leadership Academy, a harbormaster for principal leadership development programs across the public, public charter, and parochial school sectors in Philadelphia. Tim was a lauded school leader at South Brunswick High School before he was tapped by the New Jersey Department of Education to lead its statewide teacher evaluation initiative.
