That may be why a recent Vanderbilt University study of Tennessee’s Voluntary Pre-K program has gotten so much attention. The study, which found no evidence of lasting academic or social gains for elementary students who had participated in Tennessee’s pre-K program, has been hailed by pre-K skeptics as evidence that pre-K gains fade-out over time. The truth is a little more complicated.
