Background:
Ashlie Scott is a senior executive assistant at Bellwether and supports members of its Policy and Evaluation and Strategic Advising teams. She has 15 years of administrative experience and 10 years of experience in education. Prior to joining Bellwether, Ashlie taught science to middle school children in an after-school program in Los Angeles; served as a program specialist at the Texas Education Agency; and, most recently, worked for the Texas Region 13 Education Service Center as a program assistant to the state accountability, state assessment, principal certification, and superintendent certification programs.
Ashlie holds a bachelor’s degree in media production from American InterContinental University. She lives in Texas with her husband and two sons. In her free time, she enjoys researching topics that interest her, spending time with family, reading, and traveling.
Why I do this work:
I have a heart for children and believe access to education should be equitable because every child deserves a quality education no matter their economic circumstances. Being a parent and advocating for my own children is just a small piece of the puzzle; I am excited to be part of an outstanding organization that advocates for children on a much larger scale and makes a meaningful impact in education.
