Background:
Hana Halleen is the director of human resources operations at Bellwether in the Core Operations team.
Prior to joining the organization, Hana served as the senior director of people operations and total rewards at Democracy Prep Public Schools. There, she worked to streamline all internal people-related processes, enhance overall benefit offerings, and drive robust onboarding experiences for staff members.
Hana has spent the majority of her career in school- and network-based charter school operations in Cleveland — supporting the expansion and merger of charter schools, navigating the COVID-19 pandemic and shift to remote learning/return to in-person learning, and managing all aspects of everyday network operations. She also has extensive experience working on charter school and district financial management and funding. Hana’s experience with Allovue (now a part of PowerSchool) as a district partner allowed her to collaborate with and support school leaders and CFO’s to better allocate resources to serve students and staff.
Hana holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Grove City College and a certificate in education finance, finance strategy and policy from Georgetown University. She resides in Cleveland, where she enjoys gardening and spending time outdoors with her husband and two young children.
Why I do this work:
I strongly believe that all children no matter their race, ethnicity, or address should have access to a high-quality education. This is one of the most effective drivers to dismantle systemic inequality and rebuild fractured communities.
