Background
Lauren Miller is a partner at Bellwether and leads the organization’s work on place-based approaches.
Since joining Bellwether in 2013, Lauren has advised leaders across the education and place-based sectors on ways to grow and deepen their impact. Lauren brings experience in growth planning, organizational development, and implementation support to the team. In addition to state- and school-level strategic planning, Lauren’s expertise extends to developing new business plans and scaling programs and initiatives within existing organizations.
Prior to Bellwether, Lauren spent more than three years in the Insights and Planning department at POSSIBLE, a digital advertising agency, and served as an Education Pioneers Fellow in 2012.
Lauren holds an MBA from Georgetown University and a bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University, where she studied international relations and politics. She lives in Maryland with her husband and two daughters.
Why I Do This Work
My commitment to equity and education stems from my experiences growing up — attending public schools that fell short of their vision and being active in my religious community. I do this work because I deeply believe that all children, regardless of their background, should have access to a high-quality education so they can achieve their dreams.
