In 2011 and 2012, I did some work with Brendan Daly and some others on what NFL coaching lessons might offer to schools. A column for TIME and then an event at Harvard’s ed school showcased some interesting lessons and Brendan is a thoughtful former teacher himself (and his brother, Tim, is a longtime fixture in the education world).
On Sunday Brendan, who most recently coached defense in New England before going to Kansas City, will be the only person on either team to have been in five of the last six Super Bowls and the last four straight. (I checked that fact but if it’s wrong please correct in comments, I don’t follow the NFL closely).
