Background
Jason Petersen is the business systems administrator at Bellwether.
Jason began his career as a software engineer in Hollywood, contributing to the launch of the high-definition DVD and Blu-ray formats, before moving into the nonprofit sector. He has built systems and workflows for mission-driven organizations in the education space, including The Clubhouse Network and Omega Institute. He is an organizational generalist — comfortable across many facets of information technology, including systems administration, Salesforce, web development, and more.
Jason holds a bachelor’s degree in film and media arts from Temple University. He lives in New York’s Hudson Valley, where he enjoys outdoor activities including hiking, biking, gardening, and tennis.
Why I Do This Work
We’re living in a time of immense change driven by technological innovation. Like all tools, technology can be an asset or a liability. We could have a future in which technology benefits everyone, or one in which it benefits only a few. I strongly believe the direction we take as a society depends on how we educate our young people today.
