Marisa Mission is an analyst with Bellwether in the Policy and Evaluation practice area.
Her prior experience spans federal policymaking and nonprofit leadership, as well as teaching, tutoring, and mentoring students as young as preschoolers all the way to college seniors. Prior to joining Bellwether, Marisa interned for U.S. Senator Jacky Rosen, where she researched education policy for the legislative team. Marisa also served as a 2021 Community Impact Fellow with Venture Leadership Collective, supporting strategic advising for nonprofits and overseeing programming for nonprofit leaders. Her interest in education policy stems from her time at the U.S. Department of Education, where she drove inaugural efforts to evaluate its grantmaking effectiveness.
Marisa holds a bachelor’s in international relations from Stanford University.
Why I do this work:
Through a combination of luck, privilege, hard work, and philanthropists’ generosity, my education has been top tier and well resourced. As a result, I know firsthand how transformational education can be in one’s life, and I feel a deep responsibility to share the blessings I’ve had with as many people as possible.
